My last name is Houska and my grandfather was from the Czech Republic, they owned a Houska Bakery there near Prague. This story is so interesting, I would love to see photo’s of the castle.

I’ve been looking for the exact location of the magnolia lane plantation and i’m not sure if i got the right place to ask but never the less i’d at least want to have a look around the place before i have to move from were i live. I’m researching the place for history and other things and would at least like to have the chance of visiting it.

I am just about to go hunting for the vid of the investigation after reading about the history of the place. Some really horrid things! From prisoners being tempted to be dropped down with freedom( with them consequently going mad and dying) to nazi’s setting up experiments around the pit and in the castle. Highly interesting. Can’t wait to find out more about it!

Jeremy, Mobile wasn’t part of the land deal. Mobile was still under the rule of Spain during that time. Mobile became part of the Mississippi Territory in 1813, Alabama Territory 1817, then Alabma became a state in 1819. Now that history is straight, yea I only watch these guys for the *shakes head* moments.

I thought this story was very cool!! Mostly because my last name is Houska, and my Grandfathers family is from the Czech Repulic (Bohemian).
